BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 43-year-old township man is in custody after being found with child pornography that he allegedly shared on a social media app, police said.
Joseph Ibbetson has been charged with sexual abuse of children (Disseminate Material), criminal use of a communication facility, and related charges.
He was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $2 million bail.
On June 10, Bensalem Police received a Cybertip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The report stated that someone was using their “Kik” app account to upload and share child pornography in May.
Bensalem Detectives reviewed the report and found numerous files depicting your girls performing sex acts on men.
They also found several messaging conversations between the registered “Kik” user — revealed to be Ibbetson — and other users of the “Kik” app. Police said the conversations were sexual in nature with users who said they were underage girls.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and contacted Ibbetson, who admitted to using the “Kik” account to share and trade child pornography.
