Anna Clementoni scored a game-high 23 points to lead host North Pocono past Honesdale, 52-36, in the championship game of the James Akens Tournament on Saturday.

Clementoni had 10 of her points in the third quarter when the No. 4 Lady Trojans (2-0) outscored the No. 8 Lady Hornets, 17-10, to erase a two-point halftime deficit. Clementoni was named the tournament Most Valuable Player.

Alexis Silva then had eight points in the fourth quarter to help North Pocono pull away. Silva finished with 10 points — all in the second half — and earned a berth on the all-tournament team.

Lily Murray led Honesdale (1-1) with 14 points. She was named to the all-tournament team.

Wyoming Area 38, Montrose 36: At North Pocono, Kinley Park scored the go-ahead basket with 1:50 left as the Lady Warriors edged past the Lady Meteors in the James Akens Tournament consolation game.

Jailynn Park had 17 points and five rebounds to pace Wyoming Area and earn a spot on the all-tournament team. Londyn Sobeck had nine points and eight rebounds. Addison Gaylord added six points and 10 boards.

Sadie Jones paced Montrose with 14 points, and Carly Frey added 10. Jones was named to the all-tournament team.

Wallenpaupack 52, Stroudsburg 32: At Wallenpaupack, Lily Mancino scored all 18 of her points in the first half to lead the host Lady Buckhorns to the championship of the Lake Region Tipoff Tournament.

Mancino was named Most Valuable Player. She was joined on the all-tournanent team by teammates Ashley Vanderputten and Laura Posdon.

Jorai Hunter had 12 points and Teagan Strunk followed with 10 for Stroudsburg. Strunk and Adrianna Borzio were chosen to the all-tournament team.

Carbondale Area 40, East Stroudsburg North 27: At Wallenpaupack, Carbondale Area jumped out to a 12-point lead in the first quarter and won the consolation game of the Lake Region Tipoff Tournament.

Maureen Newcomb scored 15 points to lead the Chargerettes (1-1), who gave new coach Mike Courtright his first victory. Newcomb was named to the all-tournament team.

Alexis Nykaza added eight points for Carbondale Area and Abby Carachilo finished with seven points.

Mountain View 53, Nanticoke Area 44: At Mountain View, the No. 7 Lady Eagles outscored Nanticoke Area by 10 in the fourth quarter to capture the championship of its Lambert-Simons Tipoff Classic.

Trailing, 37-36, after three quarters, Mountain View outscored Nanticoke in the fourth, 17-7. Reagan Bishop-Russo had five points in the quarter and Addison Kilmer four points.

Kilmer finished with 19 points to pace the Lady Eagles (2-0), and Aubrey Sanders added 15.

For Nanticoke (1-1), Nevaeh Baron had a team-best 15 points, and Kate Reed ended with 12.

Riverside 44, West Scranton 32: At Holy Redeemer, Faith Pavalonis scored 24 points to help lead Riverside past West Scranton in consolation game of the Doreen S. Dougherty Memorial Scholarship Tipoff Tournament.

Pavalonis has 20 points in the first half, including 13 in the first quarter. She was named to the all-tournament team.

Kiley Williams added 11 points, nine of which came in the second quarter, for Riverside (1-1), which gave first-year coach Jamie Armillay his first win.

Aubrey Kerrigan led West Scranton (0-2) with 12 points. Kaitlyn Stynes represented the Lady Invaders on the all-tournament team.

In the tournament final, Holy Redeemer beat Whitehall, 49-18.

Valley View 60, Pocono Mountain West 18: At Pocono Mountain West, Cora Castellani totaled 17 points and five assists to lead No. 6 Valley View to victory in its season opener.

Ali Mauro added nine points for the Cougars, which Sadie Cardoni and Ava Gazoo each had eight. Gazoo also grabbed seven rebounds and Mady Minelli had five steals.

Delaware Valley 59, Mid Valley 22: At Mid Valley, Amanda Aragona scored 27 points to spark Delaware Valley to a season-opening win and spoil the debut of Stephen Hooper as Spartanettes coach.

Aragona had 15 of her points in the second half to help the Lady Warriors expand a 29-10 halftime lead.

Mackenzie Richards led Mid Valley with eight points.

Wrestling

At Catasauqua, Valley View sophomore Tywone Giles captured the 152-pound title at the Rough Rider Invitational.

In the first round, Giles won by technical fall in 3:23 over Eric Horger of Conwell-Egan, 17-2. He pinned Lower Merion’s Akiva Miller in 36 seconds in the quarterfinals, then pinned Northwestern Lehigh’s Braydon Uricchio in 58 seconds in the semifinals. In the final, he pinned Luca Albanese from Lower Merion in 1:57 to win the title.

Teammate Gage Jackson placed sixth at 160 pounds. Jackson was pinned in his opening match, won his next three consolation bouts by pin to reach the fifth-place match, where he lost a 12-8 decision to Jared Mantilla of Jim Thorpe.

Valley View finished ninth in the team standings with 74.5 points. Conwell-Egan won with 230 points.

Scranton was 15th with 27 points. Drew Leonori led the Knights with a fourth-place finish at 139 pounds. Leonori pinned Upper Perkiomen’s Gabe Stone in 1:18 in his first match and decisioned Jim Thorpe’s Stephen Korte in the quarterfinals, 11-5. He lost to eventual champion Michael Gorrell from Conwell-Egan, 7-3, in the semifinals, then was defeated by Pen Argyl’s Collin Ramsey by technical fall in the third-place match.
