Big news came down with the Bengals’ inactives with cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt listed as a healthy scratch as a coach’s decision.

Taylor-Britt started the season as the Bengals’ top cornerback, but just seven weeks in, he has fallen so far down that he’s inactive for one of the most critical games of the season.

This serves as a dramatic fall from grace for Taylor-Britt, a 2022 second-round pick, who has been a starter since his rookie season. He’s struggled this season, but still was in the rotation as the third cornerback in recent weeks. Instead, the Bengals kept up DJ Ivey and Marco Wilson over him.

This comes almost two years to the day he was viewed as the DK Metcalf killer in a win against Seattle, where he frustrated the then-Seahawks star receiver in a 17-13 win.

Taylor-Britt has been pulled from multiple games over the last two seasons, but it’s never gone this far into the doghouse.

It will be fascinating to see where Taylor-Britt’s story goes from here, but this is a stunning fall from grace.
