The Pittsburgh Steelers will have safety DeShon Elliott against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football. He was questionable to play with a personal issue, but travelled to Cincinnati on Thursday to join the team and will play.

Elliott has been a key communication hub and presence for the Steelers on the back end of their defense. Since his return, he has been used as a critical blitzer that gives the Steelers a ton of flexibility to do as they wish on the back end.

All five of the team’s safeties are active after they sat Chuck Clark a week ago. It is unknown if Clark will get more playing time or if safety Jabrill Peppers, who has taken on a bigger defensive role, will continue on that path.

The Steelers will also be down safety Miles Killebrew, who is their special teams captain. He has a significant knee injury that will likely keep him out even beyond this week after going down in a heap on a kickoff against the Browns. He was placed on injured reserve Thursday, and the Steelers have an open roster spot they can fill. They hosted All-Pro safety and special teamer George Odum for a visit on Tuesday.
