WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – A destination for pens, paper, printers and other office supplies is holding a store closing sale in Lehigh County.
A location of Staples, the retail chain offering office supplies such as desk organizers, file folders, notebooks and scissors, is set to close on Jan. 2, 2026, at 2180 MacArthur Road in Whitehall Township, according to storefront signage.
The Whitehall store, located in the Whitehall Square shopping center, is hosting a store closing sale, with all items – excluding desk or laptop computers, HP printers and scanners, HP ink and toner and other select products and services – discounted 30% off their original prices.

“We’re still here for you,” reads posted signage, which list nearby stores at 2138 W. Union Blvd. in Bethlehem, 4628 Broadway in South Whitehall Township and 3300 Lehigh St. in Allentown.
A company spokesperson did not immediately return a message seeking more information, including a reason for the upcoming store closure.
Staples, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts, has more than 1,000 stores nationwide, according to the company’s website.
Customers can shop a wide array of office supplies, school supplies, furniture, electronics, printers and scanners, cleaning supplies and more. Printing and shipping services are also available.
The upcoming closure of the Whitehall Staples store will follow the shuttering of another regional Staples store last month at 654 N. West End Blvd. in Richland Township.
Another Lehigh Valley Staples store closed in November 2024 at 3764 Easton Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township.
The Whitehall store is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
Holiday hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve, closed Christmas Day, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. New Year’s Eve and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. New Year’s Day.
