A “Request for Statement on Proposed Town of Bethlehem” is one of the items on the December 2, 2025, agenda of the North Carolina Local Government Commission (LGC).

The incorporation group’s proposed budget is currently under review by the NC Treasury, which is the final step before it’s sent to the General Assembly. The meeting to review this will take place on Tuesday, December 2, at 1:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the Longleaf Building/Dogwood Conference Room, 3200 Atlantic Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27604. Until the meeting, there is an opportunity for anyone to submit public comments, which will be considered during the meeting. The link to the online comment form is provided below.

1- Select “Alexander County” as the unit name.
2-Your comments should start out with “These comments are in reference to the proposal to incorporate Bethlehem in Alexander County….”

The Treasury will review the budget and issue a written opinion—note that this is not an approval or rejection. This opinion will be included with the packet submitted to the Municipal Incorporations Subcommittee of the N.C. General Assembly.
