Toys for Tots collections
Post 7069: A Toys for Tots collection box is in the lobby of Abington Memorial VFW Post 7069, 402 Winola Road, Clarks Summit. New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off daily after 3 p.m.
Post 5544: A Toys for Tots collection box is at the Jessup VFW Post 5544 on Second Avenue daily from noon until closing, collecting new, unwrapped toys.
Post 3474: A Toys for Tots collection box is in the lobby of the Dunmore VFW Post 3474, 110 Chestnut St. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off until Dec. 7.
Post 411: A Toys for Tots deposit box is located at the Jessup American Legion Post 411, 508 Church St. New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday after 6 p.m. or left daily in the front door vestibule area. Deposit box for toys will be available until Dec. 19.
Post 7963: A Toys for Tots collection box is located at Post 7963, 272 Main St., Eynon. New and unwrapped toys only.
Post 4909 Christmas parties set
Dupont VFW Post 4909 Home Association annual Christmas parties, post home, Dec. 6, with entertainment by Sperazza Band, and Dec. 13, with entertainment by Fabulous 45s. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. each day, with dinner served at 6, music from 7-10 and cash bar, 4:30-10, for mixed drinks, wine, beer, bottled water and soda, $30/person; call Bob Lopata at 570-472-1152. Deadline for reservations is the Friday before each party. Tickets cannot be sold at the door. All PLCB regulations apply.
Christmas donation programs at Post 4909
Dupont VFW Post 4909 is a drop-off point for new and unwrapped Toys for Tots, for ages 0-18. Post 4909 is also a drop-off point for Christmas presents for veterans at the VA and the Gino J. Merli Veterans Center. Gifts for men and women include all toiletries, clothing items, especially white socks, personal and recreational items (puzzle books, playing cards). A detailed list of all items the veterans need is at the post. In addition, Post 4909 is a drop-off point for donations of nonperishable food items for the Food Drive for the Homeless. The best donations are shelf-stable, nonperishable foods that are easy to prepare with minimal resources. Monetary gifts are also accepted and greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off daily at the post after noon and will be accepted until Dec. 14.
Post 7963 Breakfast with Santa
Eynon VFW Post 7963 is hosting Breakfast with Santa, Dec. 20 from 9 a.m.-noon at the post. Tickets are available at the post: $10/adults, $5/children and free/3 and under. Limited tickets available. Get pictures with Santa.
