DOCUMENTS SAY AFTER THE HOMEOWNER WOKE UP TO ROOP SHAKING HIS BED IN HIS BOXERS, HE GRABBED HIS GUN AND ESCORTED HIM OUTSIDE. THE HOMEOWNER TOLD TROOPERS HE BELIEVED IT COULD HAVE BEEN A LOCAL MAN NAMED DONNIE. TROOPERS LATER FOUND HIM STANDING BY TREES WITH A STRONG SMELL OF ALCOHOL COMING OFF OF HIM. AFTER TAKING ROOP INTO CUSTODY, STATE POLICE SAY HE PUNCHED A FINGERPRINTING MACHINE MULTIPLE TIMES AT HEADQUARTERS AND THREATENED A TROOPER, SAYING HE, QUOTE, WAS GOING TO PUT A BULLET THROUGH THEIR HEAD. THE 47 YEAR OLD WAS CHARGED WITH BURGLARY, TERRORISTIC THREATS, DISORDERLY CONDUCT, PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS AND INSTITUTIONAL VANDALISM. AND THIS ISN’T THE FIRST TIME. ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS, ROOP WAS FOUND GUILTY OF MULTIPLE COUNTS OF HARASSMENT, THEFT, BURGLARY AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, WITH MULTIPLE CASES THAT DATE BACK TO 1996. The victim said he believed the suspect was a local man known as “Donny,” according to the documents. “He was scared and frightened for his safety, life, and that of his daughter,” state police said. “He related that the man was not privileged or welcome in his residence.”While troopers were on the scene investigating, someone appeared behind a tree line, the documents stated. Investigators said the victim identified the man as the person who entered his house. Troopers said as they approached Roop, he reeked of alcohol.
