Cookie walk: Friends of the Scranton Animal Association cookie walk fundraiser, Dec. 13, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or until cookies are gone; assortment of homemade cookies for sale for $11/pound, cash only; proceeds will help homeless animals.
Annual Christmas dinner: 32nd annual Bob Bolus Sr. Christmas Day Dinner, Dec. 25, noon-6 p.m., All Saints Academy Hall, 1425 Jackson St., Scranton. This free community event ensures that no one has to spend Christmas alone. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a buffet-style turkey dinner, offered at no cost and with no reservation required. For those unable to attend in person, meal delivery is available — two meals per household. Anyone needing assistance may call 272-250-3128.
North Pocono
Winter wonderland and craft show: North Pocono Senior Center winter wonderland and craft show, Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., 6 John J. Michaels Drive, Covington Twp. Over 100 basket raffles, a train display, an animated figure display and vendors. The kitchen is open for refreshments and food. Santa will be there for pictures on Saturday from noon-2 p.m. Admission is free but donations are welcome.
Scranton
Walkable labyrinth: The walkable labyrinth at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 550 Madison Ave., will be available Wednesday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5:30-8 p.m., in the Sawtelle Auditorium. During the evening hours on Thursday from 6:45-8 p.m., Andrea Wittchen will play the harp as you walk the labyrinth or sit and meditate. The public is invited.
