The Cape Girardeau City Council approved the first reading of an ordinance that accepts a general warranty deed for property by the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport on Monday, Dec. 1, at City Hall.
According to the agenda report, the deed is from the Patt Revocable Family Trust that is dated Nov. 21, 1994. City planner Ryan Shrimplin said the city had recently acquired two tracts from the trust that are adjacent to the airport.
The report states that the city is installing a perimeter/security fence around the airport. Acquiring both tracts would allow the city to install fencing outside of the runway’s Obstacle Free Zone (OFZ).
“The City paid $40,015.88 to acquire the two tracts,” the report states.
