ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A road that was flooded after a water main break in Allentown has reopened.

The gushing water erupted around noon Wednesday at North 13th and Liberty Streets. The Lehigh County Authority says a leak occurred on a 12-inch line on North 13th.

The break was repaired and the water service restored Wednesday evening, according to the Lehigh County Authority.

The authority says there is no boil water advisory.

Two businesses were impacted and had to close.

People who live and work in the area tell us it took a while for crews to get the spraying water under control.

“It was going on for like an hour. It was going on for a while, and everybody was just stopping and looking,” said Amny Dejesus, with the Lite Smoke Shop in Allentown.
