The Community Blood Bank is joining forces with Avery’s Pawsitive Change, a nonprofit founded by the late Avery Chauncey, whose compassion for animals inspired a movement across the region. Despite battling Ewing Sarcoma, Avery launched the organization to help feed more than 10,000 pets annually through partnerships with local food pantries.

During her treatment, Avery relied on blood products that played a vital role in her care, underscoring the importance of a strong local blood supply. In her honor, the Community Blood Bank and Avery’s Pawsitive Change will host a joint blood drive and pet food donation event on Dec. 20, 2025, at the following locations.

The Community Blood Bank located at 2646 Peach Street, Erie, PA which is open 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The Corry Community Center located at 15 S 1st Ave, Corry, PA open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Targeted Pet Treats at 151 Struthers St, Warren, PA open from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
