A new hotel with extensive wellness facilities has opened in Reading.

Village Hotel Club, one of the UK’s leading hotel and wellness brands, announced that its new location in Reading is now partially open.

As of December 1, the health club and on-site Starbucks opened to visitors.

The hotel’s bedrooms, meeting and event spaces, and pub and grill are set to open to the public next week, in time for the Christmas season.

This location is the chain’s 34th in the UK, with the facility employing 200 members of staff.

The gym features dedicated fitness studios and a Reformer Pilates studio that will open in early 2026.

Village Hotel Club has said their wellness facilities have been met with “exceptional early interest,” with nearly 1,000 people signing up as members before it opened.

Festive bookings have reportedly been “building at pace.”

As the meeting and event spaces and pub and grill open next week, the hotel will host seven private Christmas events in December, as well as events on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

Although the bedrooms are set to open next week, the venue has been met with exceptionally high demand, with more than 1,000 bedrooms already booked in advance.

For football enthusiasts, their pub and grill will screen live sports on huge screens.

The hotel will  host a number of events in the run up to Christmas, including a screening of Reading FC vs Peterborough live on December 9.

On December 11, the hotel will also be the location for the all-day charity “Spinathon” event with Village Hotel Club’s chosen charity partner, Reading FC Community Trust.

The event is designed to raise funds and offers the chance for fans to meet their favourite Reading FC stars.

Rob Lees, general manager of Village Hotel Club Reading, said: “We’re excited to open our doors in Reading and bring our signature ‘everything under one roof’ offering to the local community.

“From our modern bedrooms to our Health & Wellness Club, it’s clear that residents and visitors are looking for high quality facilities and a go-to spot for fitness and leisure.”

“Reading is an important growth area for us and this hotel is set to be a strong addition to the region.”
