TUNKHANNOCK TWP., Pa. – A Lehigh County man and Carbon County woman are facing drug charges after over a pound of methamphetamine was found in a car they were riding in.Â
On Tuesday at approximately 1:50 a.m., Pocono Mountain Regional Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a car on Kuhenbeaker Road in Tunkhannock Township, according to police.Â
The operator of the car was identified as Erik Boehm 46, of Catasaqua, and the car’s passenger was identified as Samantha Kuntz, 36, of Lehighton, according to officials.Â
Police say that they observed criminal activity. A police K-9 was deployed around the exterior of the car and alerted to the presence of narcotics.Â
A search warrant was obtained for the car by police.
Police say that in the search, the following items were found: A pound of methamphetamine in a plastic bag, another half-pound of methamphetamine in a plastic bag, an electronic scale with meth residue, and a small amount of marijuana.Â
The charges filed included possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a summary traffic violation.Â
