PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania’s field hockey senior Julia Ryan added another accolade to her final year with the Quakers being named to the NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Mid-Atlantic Region Second-team.

Ryan was recognized among 160 players nationally to be selected with first or second team honors.

All-Region teams are made up of student-athletes that represent the highest level of field hockey players among five regions.

Each region is comprised of 16 outstanding players on both the first and second teams.

This announcement of the NFHCA Division 1 All-Region teams is the first of the organization’s multiple postseason awards over the next several weeks, with NFHCA Players of the Year next to be announced on December 11th.

Ryan became the first Quaker to be selected to an All-Region team since 2021 when Gracyn Banks was selected to First-team All-Region.
