PHILADELPHIA — The University of Pennsylvania men’s squash defeated city rival Drexel, 8-1, on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at the Penn Squash Center.
With the win, the Quakers improved to 6-0 on the season and won the Pennsylvania State Classic championship.
Rustin Wiser kicked off the battle of 30th street with a victory over Youssef Bastawy as Penn took a 1-0 lead.
Omar Hafez and Alex Dartnell added two more wins against their opponents shortly after as the Quakers led 3-0.
Hafez won his fifth match of the season, all in the first position of the lineup.
Rehan Luthra gutted out a 3-2 victory against Tavnett Singh Mundra after falling behind in the first game.
Marwan Abdelsalam and Salman Khalil had two impressive wins in the second and third positions for their third and fourth wins of the year.
Will Newman added another win to his resume for the Quakers, remaining undefeated in his freshman season.
