ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — The long-standing Christmas tradition, “Return to Bethlehem,” is returning to the mountains and seeking community support to bring the celebration to life.
The live-action experience, organized by Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (ABCCM), invites volunteers from across the community to help tell the story of Jesus’ birth.

The event will take place Dec. 11-14 at Groce United Methodist Church on Tunnel Road.
“We are looking for people who want to be a part of a fun community that comes together to tell the story, to tell it with their neighbors, and to be part of a great Christmas tradition,” Chandler Carriker, church engagement officer at ABCCM, said. “This has been going on, this will be the 39th year we’ll be doing this here in this community, and we have roles for everybody.”
