The Bethlehem Area School District has announced the appointment of Daniel Terry as the new principal of Hanover Elementary School, effective Jan. 5, 2026, pending school board approval.

Terry brings nearly two decades of experience as an educator and school leader within the district. He has most recently served as assistant principal at Northeast Middle School since 2022, where he led the master scheduling process and oversaw the English Language Arts and Social Studies departments. In that role, he conducted instructional observations and supported literacy initiatives as a Keys to Literacy-trained administrator while serving on the Middle School Program of Studies development team.

Before joining Northeast, Terry served as dean of students at Liberty High School during the 2021-2022 school year. He coordinated student schedules, led the building induction program on educator stamina and self-care, and advanced restorative practices as a certified Trainer of Trainers.

Terry began his career with the district in 2006 as a social studies teacher at Liberty High School, where he taught grades 9-11, developed curriculum, and mentored student teachers.

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Terry as the new leader of Hanover Elementary School,” said Jack Silva, district superintendent. “His enthusiasm, experience, and dedication to students and families make him an excellent addition to the Hanover community.”

Terry holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University, earned in 2018, and a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Instructional Technology from the same institution, earned in 2012. He also earned a Pennsylvania teaching certificate from Kutztown University and a bachelor’s degree in geography from Millersville University.

“I am honored to join Hanover Elementary School,” Terry said. “I look forward to working with our students, staff, and families to continue building a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.”

The Bethlehem Area School District is the sixth-largest school district in Pennsylvania, serving nearly 13,000 students in 22 schools across five municipalities.
