BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 31-year-old Bethlehem man is in custody for seeking sex with a girl he believed to be 13 years old, police said.
Bensalem Police said David Sheregi, 31, of Bethlehem, began a conversation with what he believed to be a 13-year-old, 8th-grade female.
The conversation on a social media app turned quickly into Sheregi telling the girl that he wanted to be her boyfriend.
Police said he sent her photos of his genitalia and asked her if she liked them. He also told her that he wanted to meet her to have sex and continued to explain in graphic detail what type of sexual acts he wanted to perform on her.
He asked the 13-year-old for nude and explicit photos of herself when she was even younger, police said. He continued to message regularly and then introduced the addition of a second male adult participating in a threesome with them.
He graphically told the teen what he and the other adult men would do to her during the sexual encounter and sent another picture of male genitalia, stating that it was the other man’s, police said.
Police said Sheregi agreed to meet with the child for a sexual encounter on Sept. 24 at her home in Bensalem. Sheregi drove from Bethlehem, and arrived wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, apparently attempting to conceal his identity, police said.
No child was in danger during this investigation.
Sheregi was charged with Attempted Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse, Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Sexual Abuse of Children (Photo/Video), Corruption of Minors, and related offenses.
Bensalem Police contacted the Bethlehem Police Department, who took him into custody without incident. On Wednesday, Sheregi was transported to Bensalem Township.
He was arraigned by District Justice Joseph Falcone and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $4 million bail.
