Going from three township supervisors to the council-manager form of government will take time, but right now, there’s a transition team being put together to ensure that the change will be as efficient as possible.

Now that voters in Millcreek Township have voted for a change in government, many are wondering what that change will look like.

Art Oligeri and RJ Zonna, both former government study commissioners, explained that the change won’t fully be implemented until January 1, 2028.

In the meantime, the commissioners laid out plans in their recommendation for a transition committee that will be appointed by the current board of supervisors.

As for Kylie Morris, who was just elected as a township supervisor, Oligeri and Zonna said they have already made contact with her.

The chairman of the commission, Paul Vojtek, wrote a letter to the current supervisors requesting that Supervisor Jim Bock be appointed to the transition committee, as his term will continue into the implementation of the new government structure. Vojtek noted that Bock was the only incumbent supervisor who publicly supported the work of the study commission and pledged to honor the decision of the voters.
