The police department announced Scout’s passing on Thursday.
SCRANTON, Pa. — The Scranton Police Department is mourning the loss of one of its K-9 officers.
K-9 Officer Scout passed away on Wednesday after suffering an unexpected medical emergency, according to the department.
Scout recently completed his K-9 academy training and was prepared to begin active duty alongside his handler, Officer Matthew Grippo.
The Scranton Police Department says he was a valued part of their police family and will be deeply missed.
