A 38-year-old man has died after his bicycle and a vehicle collided on Providence Road in Upper Darby.
Upper Darby Police Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt said the deceased was from Philadelphia.
The accident happened Wednesday shortly before 3 p.m. as the cyclist was riding east on Providence Road and crossing Penn Pines Boulevard. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where he passed away.
The operator of the striking vehicle was an 18-year-old Collingdale man.
He stayed on location and is cooperating with the investigation, Bernhardt said. The names are being withheld for notification purposes, and the investigation is ongoing, he said.
The deceased was operating a regular pedal bike, and was wearing a helmet, Bernhardt added.
