An Indian restaurant chain will open its first Lehigh Valley location next week, offering pizza, naan tacos, curry bowls, wraps, wings, catering and more.

Tikka Shack will open Dec. 12 in the Madison Farms shopping center, 4817 Freemansburg Ave. in Bethlehem Township, according to Meena Sharma, the franchisee alongside husband Dipankar Sharma and friend Harshil Patel.

“So I think we have been exploring [becoming franchisees] for quite some time,” Meena said. “We all enjoy Indian cuisine because it has incredible depth, and as we all come from different parts of India, we have experienced different food. But I think to many people, they only get to experience a small part of it. So I think we just … we’ve always talked about coming together and having introduced a concept that can be widely acceptable by the larger audience. So we wanted to bring the variety of Indian flavors in a way that feels approachable and fun, whether those are the people that have tried Indian food for a long time or even those who are trying Indian cuisine for the first time.”

She added that “if the community embraces the food, [the] community embraces us, we’d love to continue to grow in the region.”

Replacing a former Wiz Kidz cheesesteak restaurant, Tikka Shack will tentatively operate 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. all week, though Meena said those hours can change.
