A Lehigh County man and a Carbon County woman are facing drug charges after police say they seized more than a pound of methamphetamine in their car during an early morning stop.

Erik R. Boehm, 46, of the 400 block of Walnut Street in Catasauqua and 36-year-old Samantha Kuntz of Lehighton are each charged with felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and related offenses.

Boehm shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday was driving a 2015 Subaru Legacy along Kuhenbeaker Road in Tunkhannock Township when he was stopped by an officer, police said.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Chris Wagner said a K-9 unit was deployed, indicating probable cause to search the Subaru. Police obtained a search warrant.

Investigators seized from the car a pound of methamphetamine in a plastic bag; another half-pound of methamphetamine in another plastic bag; an electronic scale with methamphetamine residue; and a small amount of marijuana, police said.

Court records indicate Boehm and Kuntz both are awaiting arraignments on the charges.
