Person found dead after apartment fire in Northeast Philadelphia – NBC10 Philadelphia

An investigation is underway after officials said a person was found dead following an apartment fire in Northeast Philadelphia.

Officials said the fire broke out in an apartment building located on the 2800 block of Welsh Road around 1:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025.

Crews were able to quickly put out the fire, according to officials.

NBC10 was at the scene as medical examiners transported a body from the scene.

Police officers and firefighters were also seen inside the apartment investigating what they call a suspicious fire.

At this time, it is unclear which unit was involved in the fire and what caused it.
