The University of Scranton’s Center for Ethics and Excellence in Public Service on Nov. 5 honored David J. Wenzel as the recipient of its first Public Service Award. Wenzel, who passed away later that day, was a University of Scranton graduate who served with the Army in Vietnam and had a professional career that included serving as the 27th mayor of Scranton. Wenzel’s family accepted the award on his behalf.
