Crews tackle second alarm fire in Berks County | Reading Area

READING, Pa. – Crews battled a second alarm fire in Berks County on Sunday afternoon. 

This was the scene on the 100 block of North 5th Street around 3:00 p.m..

The calls originally came in as a 1st alarm, and was later upped to two alarms.

It’s unclear how severe it was at this point – but crews got the fire under control.

The Reading Firefighters Union said that units are still on the scene as of 5:00 p.m..
