WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – The Cementon Bridge on Route 329 is back open after an ongoing replacement project this weekend.
The bridge that crosses over the Lehigh River was part of one of Pennsylvania’s largest transportation investments in years.
The Shapiro Administration and PennDOT put more than $1 billion towards infrastructure improvements across East Central Pennsylvania.
$21.7 million of those funds went towards the Cementon Bridge.
Officials say many of the projects have been in planning for years. They are targeted to improve safety, address aging infrastructure, and support long-term growth in the region.
