The Erie Zoo is bringing back its popular Winter Weekends, starting with the Winter Wonderland event sponsored by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield on Saturday, Dec. 13. The seasonal program will run one weekend per month through February.

Guests can enjoy shopping at the Animal Art Show and Sale, browse local vendors, watch animals receive winter enrichment, and participate in a craft activity. A special Behind-the-Scenes Otter Tour will be offered from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for an additional fee of $12 per person (ages 2 and older). Tickets are available at the admission gate only, and masks that will be provided by the zoo are required for the tour.

As part of the event, the Erie Zoo is partnering with Taradoodles’ Toybox of Erie to collect new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0–17. For each toy donated at the admission gate, guests will receive a ticket for a free Taradoodles glitter tattoo during the event.

Zoo hours and winter weekend dates include Dec. 13 through Dec. 14, Jan. 17 until Jan. 18, and Feb. 14 until Feb. 15. The zoo will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with last admission at 4:15 p.m. on these dates.
