VIDEO/PHOTOS: As the winter weather is upon us in northeastern Pennsylvania, Scranton firefighters braved the elements to battle a house fire Sunday evening.

Lackawanna County officials confirmed with 28/22 News that firefighters were called to the 3200 block of Cedar Avenue in Scranton for a house fire at about 5:50 p.m. Sunday.

The Scranton Fire Department was leading the response to the incident, and no one has been reported injured.

Authorities say no one was home at the time of the fire, and the fire did not pose a threat to neighboring homes.

28/22 News spoke with Scranton Fire Department Deputy Chief Dan Hallowich, who confirmed one person has been displaced as a result of the fire and is getting help from the Red Cross.

Deputy Chief Hallowich added that crews ended up tapping into a hydrant farther away for better water pressure to fight the fire.

So far, authorities do not know what caused the house fire, and the incident is under investigation.
