William Evans
OBITUARY
William Evans, 69, of Scranton died Saturday December 6, 2025 of an illness at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Hess Evans. Educated in the old Scranton Tech school, he also, proudly served in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement he worked as a Contractor by trade.
Surviving are daughters Jessica Straub and husband Joshua, and Christine Sabia and husband John, all of Scranton; sons William Evans, Scranton, Joseph Evans and Daniel Evans, Massachusetts;grandchildren Kuiyanna and Elijah Straub, Parker and Coral Evans; brother Thomas Evans and wife Alice, Texas, and Donald Evans, Scranton; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brothers David, John, Ronald, and Carl; former wife and partner Jenny Evans.
A celebration of William’s life will be held Friday from 1-3 pm in the Solfanelli-Fiorillo Funeral Home Inc., 1030 N. Main Ave., Scranton.
