Rising young dirt Modified star Logan Watt will make both his Indoor Auto Racing Series and TQ Midget debut during the Ironton Global Allentown Indoor Races on Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10, at the PPL Center in Allentown, PA.

The recently turned 17-year-old second-generation driver from nearby Boyertown will team with hometown favorite Briggs Danner, driving a brand-new Kevin Graver Jr.-built race car.

Watt stormed onto the dirt Modified scene this season in his first full-time campaign, collecting four victories at three different speedways, including the prestigious Forrest Rogers Memorial at Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA. He also impressed on the Super DIRTcar Series trail, earning a surprise podium finish in his first-ever big-block Modified Series start in April at New Egypt Speedway (NJ), and nearly stealing a win at Brewerton Speedway (NY) after charging from 15th to second in his debut there.

Danner returns to Indoor competition after a full season on the USAC National Sprint Car Series. Over the past two years, he has worked closely with Graver to develop a new TQ Midget. Despite mechanical setbacks last winter, Danner showed strong speed, came close to his first series win, and ultimately fell just two positions short of the Indoor Series championship.

Graver designed and built the TQ Midget in his Lehighton, PA shop with Danner’s input. A new car constructed this winter was initially intended for Danner to race alongside USAC National Driving Champion Justin Grant of Ione, CA. Grant, who debuted in the Indoor Series in 2023 driving for Lou Cicconi, fractured his left foot in an August Sprint Car crash in Indiana. With a follow-up procedure being considered for early January, his Allentown plans are uncertain, though he has not ruled out returning for the next Indoor event in Atlantic City on January 30–31.

Watt developed a love for Indoor TQ Midget racing after attending the Allentown event with his family several years ago. A former Quarter Midget racer, he has recently worked as part of the series’ infield staff to stay close to the action. “Excited” is an understatement for his long-awaited driving debut.

Owner/driver Kyle Herve of Milford, N.J. and Lenny Boyd’s team with driver Joey Bailey were among the first of an expected 50 TQ Midgets to enter for the series opener. The headline TQ Midget division will be joined by Slingshots and Champ Karts, with full programs and main events for all three classes. As a Friday bonus, the Will Cagle Shootout, sponsored by Ricky Harring, will feature the top ten qualifiers in a 15-lap race in which drivers choose their starting positions. The pole will pay $240 to win, with prize money increasing by $120 for each spot farther back. A driver taking the tenth starting position and winning will earn $1,320.

Lower-level reserved ticket holders for Saturday night’s event receive access to a special pre-race FanFest, giving attendees the chance to walk the track and meet drivers and teams before the 7 p.m. green flag.

Located in the heart of downtown, the PPL Center is surrounded by restaurants, bars, entertainment, and hotels—an ideal weekend destination for race fans combining speed, nightlife, and fun.
