Erie police officers have arrested a suspect and charged him in a shooting incident that happened in east Erie Monday afternoon.
The victim, a 28-year-old man, showed up at a gas station at East 6th and Parade Streets saying he had been shot in the neck.
The victim was transported to UPMC Hamot, where he underwent emergency surgery for entry and exit wounds to the neck. He told investigating officers that he was hit by one of two shots fired in an apartment house at 516 East 6th Street.
Deputy Chief Rick Lorah said the victim cooperated with authorities and was able to pick the suspect out of a lineup.
Police arrested 60-year-old Eddie Anthony Morrow. He faces charges including criminal attempted homicide, two counts of aggravated assault, possessing instruments of a crime, unauthorized to possess a weapon and reckless endangerment.
Authorities have not indicated a motive for the crime.
