A Brown Pelican was rescued in Erie County on Friday.

According to the Tamarack Wildlife Center, the Pelican is being treated for frostbite.

Over the weekend, it appeared the Pelican was making progress, but optimism for a recovery is fading.

The Wildlife Center is also treating a Bald Eagle.

Less than three weeks ago, a Bald Eagle was rescued in Slippery Rock, Pa.

The Bald Eagle was diving for prey when he got tangled in a fence.

X-Rays revealed no fractures, but he suffered tendon and ligament damage.

In 2025, the Tamarack Wildlife Center has treated over 1,900 patients. That number is a new all-time high.
