Marywood University rallied to take the final two games and grind out a five-set nonconference victory over Cairn University, 21-25, 25-18, 28-30, 25-15, 15-13, on Wednesday at Insalaco Arena.
The Pacers (19-1) ran their program-record winning streak to 12.
Genevieve Pollock led Marywood with 16 kills and added three block assists. Carolina Samaniego totaled 13 kills and 13 digs. Taylor Hallam contributed 11 kills, four aces and two block assists. Ryleigh Hart had nine kills and three block assists. Taylor Howard had six kills and five total blocks. Ayla Bransford tied for the fifth-most assists in a five-set match with 48 and also chipped in five aces and 12 digs. Catie Woolf and Andrea Fraga had 24 and 11 digs, respectively.
PSU-Harrisburg 3, Keystone 0: At Middletown, Keystone College lost a United East Conference match, 25-8, 25-15, 25-13.
Nataly Bermudez had seven kills and seven digs for the Lady Giants (1-19, 0-6). Naema Alatorre and Hailey Mowry both had four assists, while Serenity Marshall totaled 10 digs.
Field hockey
At Weiss Field, Annie Shaw scored three goals for her first career hat trick as the University of Scranton blanked Moravian University, 5-0, in a Landmark Conference game.
Shaw scored her first goal 48 seconds into the game and the Royals (5-0 league, 11-3 overall) were off and running to their fifth straight victory.
Olivia Dougherty and Olivia Burdo also scored for Scranton, and Maggie Keys had two assists.
Men’s soccer
At Washington, D.C., four players scored as Keystone College earned its first United East Conference men’s soccer win of the season, 4-2, at Gallaudet University on Wednesday.
Bryan Rodriguez, Keon Morros, Christian Sanders and Leo Arrieta had goals for the Giants (1-4, 3-10). Sanders’ goal was his first collegiate goal, and Arrieta’s goal was a penalty kick with five seconds remaining.
Kolten McVean made one save to get the win.
Women’s soccer
At Phoenixville, University of Valley Forge scored the final two goals to earn a 5-4 win over Keystone College in a United East Conference women’s soccer match Wednesday.
Victoria Frantz had three goals for the Lady Giants (0-6, 0-11-1). Isabella Benitez also scored for Keystone.
