Seven years ago, Trump denied reports that he called Haiti and African nations “shithole countries” during a closed-door meeting. But on Tuesday night, he admitted that he totally did.
When an audience member shouted “Shithole!” Trump quipped, “I didn’t say that, you did.” But then he acknowledged making the comment in a 2018 Oval Office meeting, saying, “Remember I said that to the senators that came in?”
Then he hurled some new racist attacks, asking why we can’t take immigrants from nice (majority white) countries like Norway, Sweden, Denmark, rather than nations like Somalia, which he called “filthy, dirty, disgusting, ridden with crime.”
