Vice President JD Vance is expected to give a speech in the Lehigh Valley next week to focus on the economy, in the vein of President Donald Trump’s remarks Tuesday night at Mount Airy Casino Resort.
Vance’s office said he would appear in Allentown, but no further details on the timing or location were immediately available. The speech is part of the administration’s efforts to assure voters that it is working to address inflation, according to his office.
It will be Vance’s first visit to the Lehigh Valley since taking office. He previously appeared in Northeast Pennsylvania to tout the administration’s signature One Big Beautiful Bill.
On the road in the Poconos on Tuesday, Trump tried to emphasize his focus on combating inflation, yet the issue that has damaged his popularity couldn’t quite command his full attention. He meandered during his remarks, asking why the U.S. couldn’t take in more immigrants from Scandinavia and using an expletive to describe countries such as Haiti and Somalia.
