Officials have shared the identity of a woman whose body was found on Tuesday evening after rowhome fire lit up the skies just north of Philadelphia’s La Salle University earlier in the day.

On Wednesday morning, fire officials confirmed the remains belonged to 70-year-old Denise Green.

In all, up to five rowhomes appeared to be damaged from the fire at the 5700 block of North Lambert Street, but the rowhome where the fire is believed to have began has the most damage.

A firefighter was also injured in the fire and was listed in stable condition, officials said.

Investigators were unable to go inside the home for most of the day because it was too dangerous, but crews were able to shore up the building once the fire was put out so they could go inside.

NBC10’s SkyForce10 was over the fire at about 11:15 a.m., which showed smoke pouring from the homes as firefighters worked to extinguish flames there.

Relatives of some of the victims told NBC10 that the woman who was initiaially missing — now identified as Green — was a beloved mother.

However, they were holding out hope that she was not inside when the fire erupted on Tuesday afternoon.

“Her older son, he was in the home,” said family member Denisha Addison. “He smelled smoke he got out. He did not go upstairs because he was not even aware she was even there. So, it could be a possibility that she have left. But we’ve been calling her, calling her phone and no one has answered yet.”

The American Red Cross said they are helping 12 people effected from the fire.

Also, officials did not immediately say what may have started this fire.

But, NBC10 is working to learn more.

This is a breaking news story. It will be updated as new information becomes available.
