Erie Women’s Fund Hosts 2025 Furchak Ferko Grant Reception | State

The 2025 Furchak Ferko Grant Reception was hosted by the Erie Women’s Fund on Dec. 10.

This year’s grant was awarded to Meals on Wheels Erie at the Lake Shore Country Club.

The Executive Director of Meals on Wheels Erie, Jennifer Hoffman, stated that this funding is going towards a new program, The Women’s Nutritional Network.

Hoffman said, “This program is going to be exclusively for women, it’s designed very much like our current program that we have that’s Veterans in Need, so this will be a program where women who are food insecure or have a need, whether they’re home bound and can’t really get out to get food, or whether they are of lower income and can’t afford some of the other programming, they will get a meal delivered to them daily at no charge.”

Meals on Wheels Erie was established in 1971, and Hoffman stated that an average of 200 people are served daily.
