Vice President JD Vance is coming to the Lehigh Valley next week to make a speech near Allentown on Tuesday, according to a spokesperson for his office.
He’ll discuss the U.S. economy and cost of living, echoing remarks made by President Trump during a visit Tuesday, Dec. 9, to Mount Airy Casino Resort in Paradise Township, Monroe County.
Trump veered off topic during his economic address Tuesday to also complain about immigrants coming to America from “hellhole” countries, according to the Associated Press.
Vance’s spokesperson didn’t release a time or location for the vice president’s Dec. 16 speech.
“Expect Vice President Vance to emphasize the fact that making America affordable again is the number one priority of the Trump administration,” the spokesperson said.
Vance became a U.S. Senator from Ohio in 2022, then was elected vice president on Trump’s ticket in 2024. He’s known for his memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” which chronicles his rise from poverty to his graduation from Yale Law School.
