FORKS TOWNSHIP, NORTHAMPTON CO. (WOLF) — More than three decades after Robert Freeman Sr. was found brutally killed in a Northampton County cornfield, Pennsylvania State Police are renewing their appeal for information and offering a $5,000 reward for tips that help solve the case.

Freeman, 42, was discovered on January 25, 1992, in a field off Uhler Road in Forks Township, just outside Easton. The property owner made the grim discovery, finding the victim partially clothed and suffering from severe blunt-force injuries and stab wounds. Investigators said some of Freeman’s personal items — including a leather jacket and pieces of jewelry — have still never been recovered.

State Police say the last confirmed sighting of Freeman was a week earlier, on the evening of January 18, 1992, at Ferris’ Café, a neighborhood bar in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. Detectives believe he may have been attacked outside the tavern, as his vehicle was located in the bar’s parking lot days before his body was found.

The case remains under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police Troop M Criminal Investigation Assessment Unit, which continues to review evidence and seek new leads. Authorities say even small pieces of information could help move the decades-old case forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact State Police at 610-861-2026, the statewide tip line at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (1-800-472-8477), or submit a tip anonymously online at P3Tips.com. All tipsters may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest or helps close the case.
