James Malone is urging the community to attend a public input hearing Thursday night at the Manheim Township Public Library to discuss PPL’s proposed annual base increase, which he fears could make it even harder for families already struggling to pay their electric bills.PPL said its $356 million annual base increase would help strengthen and modernize the electric grid. PPL claims the additional funding would support tree trimming and building stronger poles that can withstand severe weather. If you are a PPL residential customer using about 1,000 kilowatt-hours a month, your bill would increase by about 7 percent.
