Angelina County has some great Christmas traditions. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Pumping Unit has to be one of the most unique holiday sights in the state of Texas. Another East Texas Christmas tradition that is always highly anticipated is the First United Methodist Church’s presentation of An Evening in Old Bethlehem. Numerous church members transform the grounds of the George H. Henderson, Jr. Expo Center in Lufkin into the small village of Bethlehem, similar to how it was at the time of the birth of Christ.

The 4-1-1 For An Evening in Old Bethlehem

This year will mark the 40th anniversary of An Evening in Old Bethlehem. It will take place on Friday, December 12, and Saturday, December 13. The doors are open nightly from 6 pm until 8 pm. Admission is free, but if you’d like to make a donation, those will be accepted at the door.

Weather For The Event

The high temperatures for both days of An Evening in Old Bethlehem are expected to be between 70-75 degrees. Temperatures should be in the 60s each night of the feature. There is a slight chance of rain in the forecast for Saturday night.

The George H. Henderson Jr. Expo Center is located at 1200 Ellen Trout Drive in Lufkin, across from the Brookshire Brothers Corporate Office. Parking at the event is free.
