Hundreds of local families will have a cheerful Christmas thanks to The Giant Company.
On Friday, the company donated 200 hams to Helping Harvest, the Spring Township food bank, to be distributed to families throughout Berks and Schuylkill counties.
Giant employees also volunteered at the food bank, helping pack hunger relief boxes and organize and restock shelves in advance of the busy holiday season.
Giant’s donation to Helping Harvest is part of a wider philanthropic effort to ensure families have a centerpiece dish at their holiday table. The company is donating a total of 3,000 hams to 20 food banks and hunger relief organizations across Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia in advance of Christmas.
