Vice President JD Vance is expected to give a speech in the Lehigh Valley on Tuesday to focus on the economy, in the vein of President Donald Trump’s remarks Dec. 9 at Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County.
Vance’s office said he would appear in Allentown, but no further details on the timing or location were available. The speech is part of the administration’s efforts to assure voters that it is working to address inflation, according to his office.
It will be Vance’s first visit to the Lehigh Valley since taking office. He previously appeared in West Pittston in July to tout the administration’s signature One Big Beautiful Bill Act. During that trip he made a surprise visit to Majestic Lunch in Pittston.
On the road in the Poconos, Trump tried to emphasize his focus on combating inflation, yet the issue that has damaged his popularity couldn’t quite command his full attention. He meandered during his remarks, asking why the U.S. couldn’t take in more immigrants from Scandinavia and using an expletive to describe countries such as Haiti and Somalia.
