A 16-year-old Taylor teen is dead from a gunshot wound after he was shot on Friday evening, according to Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland.

The incident took place at a Scranton residence, Rowland said.

The teenager was taken to Geisinger Community Medical Center where he died shortly after arriving.

He is not being identified at this time, Rowland said.

Scranton police are investigating.
