Broadway in Scranton is looking for inspiring people to win tickets to the national tour of the musical “SIX” in November.
The Tony-winning show reimagines the six wives of Henry VIII as a girl-power pop group.
In keeping with one of the show’s themes — that anyone can be a queen — the drawings are open to any gender.
“SIX” is currently on Broadway and won the Tony Award for best original score in 2022. The one-act, 80-minute show is structured as a pop concert.
Beginning Monday, and through Friday, nominations can be submitted to BroadwayinScranton.com. Six people will be randomly selected to win a pair of tickets to opening night, Nov. 21, and be spotlighted on social media as “NEPA Queens.” Announcements will begin Nov. 7.
Anne Boleyn and the others who were divorced, beheaded and survived will visit the Scranton Cultural Center Nov. 21–23. Performance times are Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1 and 6:30 p.m.
Tickets prices begin at $66, plus any fees, and may change. They are available online at BroadwayinScranton.com and in person at the Scranton Cultural Center, 420 N. Washington Ave. Box office hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The show is recommended for ages 10 and up.
The rest of the Broadway in Scranton season schedule is “The Book of Mormon,” Dec. 19-21; “Kinky Boots,” Feb. 13-15; “Chicago,” March 6-8; “Clue,” April 24-26, and “The Music Man,” June 12-14.
