A 63-year-old Scranton woman died Friday afternoon after being struck by a vehicle Thursday on Harrison Avenue, Lackawanna County Coroner Tim Rowland said.

Rai Minaxiben died from the her injuries at a hospital, Rowland said.

Scranton officers were dispatched to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Mulberry Street on Thursday around 5:06 p.m. for the report of a vehicle striking two pedestrians, police announced in a news release.

Upon arrival, crews found a vehicle stopped in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue, police said.

A man and a woman were treated at the scene and transported to Geisinger Community Medical Center with serious injuries, police said.

No update was provided regarding the man’s condition.

An investigation determined the vehicle was traveling north on the 400 block of Harrison Avenue when it struck the pair,,”] police said.

The Scranton Police Highway Unit and Pennsylvania State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist Unit conducted a full forensic reconstruction at the scene, police said.

Scranton police continue to investigate the incident, Rowland said.
