At 9:27 p.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service released an updated lake effect snow warning in effect until Monday at 7 a.m. for Northern Erie and Southern Erie as well as Crawford County.
“Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations up to two inches,” can be anticipated according to the weather service. “A narrow band of moderate accumulating lake effect snow will continue to drift across portions of Northwest Pennsylvania over the next several hours. Snow will be lighter outside of that narrow band.”
“Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute,” comments the weather service. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission strongly encourage motorists to heed all travel restrictions and delay unnecessary travel.”
