U. MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. – With colder temperatures limiting outdoor play, one new gym for kids in Trexlertown, Lehigh County is offering a warm solution.
69 News Reporter Sydney Kay has a look inside the new space and how it’s helping kids stay healthy this winter.
The Little Gym owner Matthew Pitz said the gym helps kids that are 4 months old to 12 years old. It teaches building confidence through every stage of childhood, in three ways: get moving, brain boost, and citizen kid, he said.
The gym is set to officially open on Dec. 15 at 6900 Hamilton Blvd., Unit 29, in the Trexlertown section of Lower Macungie Township.
The gym focuses on the child’s total development through gymnastics, Pitz said.
He said the gym has coaches focused on teaching classes that are serious fun.
“It’s a wonderful place to coach and develop kids,” he said.
Popular options include parent/child classes, allowing parents to help their child explore motor and social-skill development; and preschool and grade school gymnastics classes that teach students tumbling and apparatus techniques while using positive motivation as a learning tool.
The facility also will offer birthday bashes in a variety of themes that feature instructor-led games and music.
Pitz said his love of coaching drew him to the gym.
On Jan. 3, The Little Gym of Trexlertown will host a grand opening event, with Founding Member specials available for early enrollees. Initial members will get $10 off monthly membership rates and a waived initiation fee.
The Little Gym has around 400 locations in 31 countries.
The Trexlertown gym will operate 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
